Chicwish first got my attention last spring when I saw their gorgeous maxi dresses all over my social media. At around $70, the dresses were much priced better than many of the other retailers I saw. I ordered three dresses for an outdoor garden party event, planning to return two of them.
I was in a hurry to find something before my trip, so I didn’t photograph all of them. {I know, bad blogger!} To my surprise, ALL of them fit! Two were great options, but I only needed one dress. I returned the others and shared this one that I loved, tagging the company in my post. I kept this floral dress, but returned this strapless number and this yellow dress. The strapless one was a heavier fabric than I wanted, and I needed something lightweight for the party.

Chicwish reached out to me, offering to send a few items in exchange for a review. While I did receive the items for free, the ideas and opinions in this post are completely mine. Also, this post does have affiliate links. If you shop with these, I could earn a small commission. (Thank you!)
Shopping On The Site
The Chicwish website can be overwhelming. They have so many items, and popular styles can go out of stock quickly. I recommend using the “New Arrivals” tab for the best selection. Then, filter by your size. Be mindful of the size charts. They are not the same for every item. Also, I find that the bottoms run small, with a cut more like junior’s sizing. Dresses and tops are truer to size.
For reference, I’m 5’5″ and typically wear a Medium (34C) on top and a size 8 on bottom.
What I Ordered
I ordered versatile fall pieces and a few trendier items to mix in. I wanted to try a range of items and styles to get a better idea of what they offered. I already knew I loved their maxi dresses!
LOVES

This black cropped knit blazer is my favorite item that I received. It’s so chic, and I adore the gold heart buttons. I’m in a medium; fits TTS. If you don’t buy anything else, get this.

Another top layer, this camel open-front knit coatigan (coat/cardigan combo!) is another one of my favorites from this Chicwish haul. It’s warm, and the color and cut are perfection. I really like how it’s tailored in the shoulders. I probably won’t be able to wear it for a few more months, when the weather finally cools off.
LIKES

This gorgeous rust satin dress would have definitely been a “love” if the buttons had not broken before I had a chance to wear it. With a simple sewing fix, it’s repaired. I plan to wear this during the holidays to parties — Someone send me an invite, please! It would also be great for a fall wedding.

Colored blazers like this lavender jacket are fun pieces to mix in your closet. Style it over a dress, t-shirt or a monochromatic look like I have it here. The slightly oversized fit is good, but the placement of the buttons is a little odd. It runs TTS; I’m in a medium.

This chunky knit white sweater is an oversized fit; I’m in a large. It’s very warm, despite the holes, and does not require a cami underneath. I’ve seen so many of these chunky knits for fall, and this is a great way to try the trend without a big investment. Be mindful of proportions on this style. I like it front tucked to emphasize the waist and to keep it from looking like a sack.

One of my favorite things about Chicwish are their workwear basics, like these black high waist bowknot pants. Styles like this go fast, so grab your size when you see it. Unfortunately, these black pants are a size medium, and I’d prefer a large. This is one of the instances where the size chart was a little off, with the pants having more of a junior’s cut. However, I do like the style. FYI, the tie waist is sewn onto the pants. Curvier readers will want to size up from what you usually wear.

This black sweater knit romper was a fun trendy piece to try. I wanted the larger size, but it was sold out. Even with the loose fit, I would prefer the larger size. I think it could still be cute for a fall date night. It reminds me of a similar Free People style.
PASSES

Chicwish is has a variety of snuggly fall layers. This waterfall cardigan was surprisingly warm. The fit is oversized, and I liked everything but the pockets. It’s very warm and would be a cozy option for cold winter days, but I don’t know if the temps will get low enough here in Louisiana to wear it much.
In order to keep this an honest review, I want to touch on a couple of items where the sizing was significantly different than what was listed in the description. This was a big disappointment since the size chart indicated that they should work.
I had high hopes for this faux wrap pink dress, but the medium was a perfect fit for my size 2 teenage daughter. The site does say “bodycon” — maybe I should have known better. This black jumpsuit was cut similarly, and it was way too short in the torso. Out of the 13 items I’ve tried from Chicwish, it’s important to note that I only had this experience with two pieces.
Would I Shop Chicwish Again?
Definitely! I will shop with Chicwish again, particularly for jackets, dresses and work pieces. I love their options for special events, too. The prices are affordable, even more so when they have a sale. If you do have an item that doesn’t work out, returns are relatively easy. For the best experience, create an account before you place your order. It will be easier to track that way. Their customer service is responsive and helpful, and the first return is completely free. After that, returns are still inexpensive.
Chicwish shipping times are very reasonable because the items ship from California. Most things took about two weeks, but some arrived much sooner.
I hope this review is helpful and gives you a better idea of how to get the best results shopping with Chicwish. If you have any other questions, leave a comment, and I’ll be happy to respond.
