Decorating for the seasons doesn’t need to be expensive or complicated. Follow these tips to bring a little bit of fall into your home without spending a lot of time or money.

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year! School supplies, football games, crunchy leaves, and all things pumpkin spice make this season the absolute best in my opinion. Even if the temperature outside is still in the 90s, it’s full-on pumpkin spice inside.
While I really love this time of year, I don’t want to spend a fortune redecorating my house every time the seasons change. So, here are a few simple and inexpensive ways to bring autumn touches to your home.

1. Pick ONE Fall Color
Burgundy, wheat, chestnut, olive, pumpkin and butterscotch colors make your home feel like autumn.
My tip: Pick one fall color to add to your existing decor. Choose a color that works with what you already have in your home. This year, I chose burgundy.
Try to incorporate the accent color in one place in each of the main rooms of your home. For example, add dried burgundy leaves, a pretty chrysanthemum with burgundy blooms, a rich burgundy throw, an accent pillow, or a kitchen hand towel in that same color.
Then, stick to neutrals for anything else. I’ve had these woven pumpkins for years, and they always find a spot in the house. I’ve also started collecting silver pumpkins. These neutrals are small enough to fit in one attic bin, and they allow me to change out the seasonal colors with the trends.

2. Decorate Where It Counts
Pick some high impact locations to bring in the season. I chose above the fireplace, the coffee table, the front door, and the kitchen table. These locations give me a lot of visual impact, but I don’t have to worry about redecorating every room in my home.
3. Add Cozy Layers
Bring out the throws and textures to add an extra layer of cozy to your space. I love to add chunky neutrals throws to the sofa, bed, and favorite spots. Now is the time to bring in a few new throw pillows or swap out for richer colors. I keep this basket full of throws year round, but it’s also perfect for fall.

Now is also a great time to add in layers of color. Maybe add some found feathers, dried flowers, or a bowl of crisp fall apples.
Think outside the box! Work through your home one room at a time, thinking about how you can add more warmth to the space.
4. Add Fall Scents
Finally, don’t forget to change out the fragrances in your home. I’m not a huge fan of fake fall smells, but I love this blend of essential oils.

I use Young Living oils for so many reasons. If you’re not a member yet, here is my referral link. Make sure to sign up for essential rewards so that every purchase goes toward FREE products. The loyalty rewards this month are really good too! Reach out if you have any questions.
I also recently purchased a Pura, and I love the fall scent in this set. These are probably not as great for your health, but they’re so easy to use. There’s even an app that allows you to program the time and strength of your scents!
I hope this post inspires you to bring some autumn vibes into your home!
