Hey y’all! I’m Alicia, and I’m new to this blogging thing.
My journey to blogging has been quite an adventure. I have a degree in communications from LSU, but when I had my babies, I decided to stay home with them. When they were in school, I tried several business ventures. I painted signs on Etsy, refinished furniture, wrote website content for several businesses, and even had a space in an antiques store.

In 2016, our home was among the many in our Louisiana community to flood. We were “lucky” and “only” had about 10 inches of water. Many flooded to the ceiling and lost everything. I’ll post more about that whole experience another time.

It was sitting in my disaster of a flooded home that I knew I had to do something. I chose to work at my kids’ school that had also flooded and was temporarily relocated to the gym of the middle school. Later, I started substitute teaching and went on to teach for three years: fourth through seventh grades.
I loved so many aspects of teaching, but there were other parts of the job that hurt my heart and felt like it just didn’t fit. Leaving teaching was so scary because I had no idea what to do. It was part of my identity, my passion, purpose, and my career.
One consistent thing through the years has been my passion for creating warm, inviting spaces that feel both peaceful and beautiful. I love creating “home” and letting the way our family lives drive the design. I also love all things design, including cute outfits and trendy styles.

My friends and family have encouraged me to pursue this blogging dream, and I hope this endeavor will bless and inspire those who follow along with me. If you’re into home design that is attainable, easy, simple, and doesn’t take itself too seriously, stop and hang out. Join me for this adventure, and let’s see where it leads. If you want cute budget-conscious fashions, you’ll find that here too. Crowd-pleasing recipes? Stay tuned. Subscribe below to be the first to hear about new posts.
If you read all of this, I am so grateful for your time.
