Weekly Faves – Winter (mostly) Clean Beauty Finds 12.22.21

I pulled together some of my absolute FAVORITE (mostly) clean beauty finds. These are all items I have and would absolutely recommend to my best friend or sister. Here are my honest reviews, along with how I use each item.

I plan to share my full beauty routine soon, but here is a start!

Earlier this year, I decided to try to use clean products more in my home and beauty routine. This will definitely continue next year.

FYI, the links in this post are affiliate links, and if you buy something, I might receive a small commission from the retailer. That goes toward my bougie coffee habit and keeping this blog going.

  1. These Silly George Lashes are ahhmazing. I love their bond liner and mascara too. I’m not great at false eyelashes, but I’m getting better. These lashes are really high quality and last for many wears. My favorite is the Aurora style. They are extra long, so you just trim the outer corners to the length you need.

The Silly George Liner Bond is truly a game changer. You can instantly attach the lashes, and it comes off easily when you’re ready. The liner bond comes in black or clear. I love the clear for a more natural look.

The Heart Eyes Mascara is great because it doesn’t smudge, and it has two types of wands: one for lengthening, and one for adding volume.

Use my code THEBAYOUBLONDE15 for 15% off your order.
  2. This clean beauty duo from BeautyCounter is a must for anti-aging!

The Counter+ All Bright C Serum contains two forms of vitamin C taht instantly brighten skin and help reduce the appearance of existing dark spots, while antioxidant-rich turmeric and camu camu extracts help protect against new ones. I noticed an immediate change in my dark spots after starting this serum.

The Counter+ Overnight Resurfacing Peel contains AHA and beta hydroxy acid peel that improve skin texture and boost clarity without irritation or over-drying. I’ve used similar products (that cost more!) from other brands, and I found this one to be much better for my skin. It didn’t make my skin dry, but my pores were definitely smaller. I use it every other night.

Now is a great time to try these products — BeautyCounter has all of their holiday sets on major sale. Click here to shop.
  3. I started using this Primally Pure Gua Sha Stone about a month ago, and I can really see a difference, particularly on my jaw line and forehead lines. This stone is unique because of the variety of shapes that are incorporated into one tool. It’s really the best one I’ve seen!

If you research Gua Sha, you’ll see that it’s being touted as an alternative to Botox. Since using the stone, I can visibly see a change, and it’s helped me go almost a year between Botox appointments. I also love that it’s inexpensive and doesn’t involve injecting a toxin into my body.

Read more information about Gua Sha in this helpful article.

I also love the Primally Pure Clarifying Serum. It has really cleared my acne flare-ups, and my teens love it too. We pair it with the Primally Pure Clarifying Charcoal Soap. Primally Pure is an amazing company, and I love their simple packaging and clean ingredients.
  4. These imPRESS Nails are seriously easy to use and look great. I normally do my nails at home for convenience and cost. These are even faster! I use the short length, and I find that they last about a week. Each box comes with 30 nails. They are contoured to fit snug against your cuticles, and they look like a nice gel manicure.

Here is a link to my favorite color, Evanesce, from Amazon. They’re on sale too!
  5. This Tula Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm is a must have for me. I recently ran out, and immediately, I could see a difference. I use this during the day instead of eye cream. It helps with puffiness and dark circles, but it also hydrates and feels refreshing. I usually order mine on Amazon.

That’s all for today! Thanks for reading, and if you choose to shop with my affiliate links, it is very much appreciated.

Weekly Faves – What I’m reading, listening, to, & loving lately – 10.24.21

I’ve been planning these shares for two weeks. I meant to post this on Friday, but life got busy (as it tends to do). When I finally got a minute, it was the weekend.

FYI, the links in this post are affiliate links, and if you buy something, I might receive a small commission from the retailer. That goes toward my bougie coffee habit and keeping this blog going.

  1. Halloween is almost here. While I don’t have any costumes to share with you, I found this cutie on Instagram. It’s so cute, and Up is one of my favorite movies.
  2. The amazing Addison’s Wonderland crew came up with this incredible furniture DIY. I am so impressed! How many times have you wanted to paint a chair? Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve thought about it so many times!
  3. This interview from the Jesus Over Everything podcast is gut wrenching but also so good. My favorite quote, “When you turn on the light, the rats will run.” Want to know the context? Check out this powerful interview. Please note, this isn’t one to listen to with the kids around.
  4. This Tarte Maracuja Lip Gloss is so moisturizing, and I love this color for fall. I layer it over a lip liner for more staying power.
  5. This felt fedora is so stylish and under $20! It instantly makes a simple outfit look trendy and cute. Also, it’s a perfect cover for dirty hair!

That’s all for today! Thanks for reading, and if you choose to shop with my affiliate links, it is very much appreciated.

Weekly Faves – What I’m reading, listening, to, & loving lately – 10.08.21

I love searching for things to share with you! Anything is up for grabs, and this week is an eclectic mix that I hope brings you joy.

FYI, the links in this post are affiliate links, and if you buy something, I might receive a small commission from the retailer. That goes toward my coffee habit and keeping this blog going.

  1. I met the amazing Lisa Whittle last week, and she was absolutely precious, down-to-earth, and sincere about her love for Jesus. I’m reading her new book, The Hard Good, and I highly recommend it.
  2. The Nester, aka Myquillyn Smith, did a series this week on creating your Best Home Now. If you missed it, you can watch the last day (my favorite part) here. I love her inspirational message about home and the perspective she brings.
  3. This nail polish color is my favorite for fall. It’s the perfect rich, moody taupe shade. I’d share a pic of me wearing it, but taking attractive hand pics is hard! Trust me, you’ll love it! You can also find it here.
  4. These face masks are my favorite, and they just released a new fall collection. Little Miss Bayou loves these too. They’re on sale right now too!
  5. This song has been playing on repeat in my head since Sunday. I love the idea that nothing is impossible with God.
  6. This Violet Toning Mask works great at taking the brassy color out of blonde hair. I use it like a regular conditioner, but I leave it on for several minutes before rinsing.
  7. Aerie finally restocked my favorite pebble leggings. I like these more than Spanx because they are thinner and not as hot. I prefer them a little shorter, and the 7/8 length is perfect!

That’s all for today! Thanks for reading, and if you choose to shop with my affiliate links, it is very much appreciated.

Weekly Faves – What I’m reading, listening, to, & loving lately – 09.24.21

I really should change the title to monthly faves! It’s been a while since I’ve shared. I wanted to include a few extras for you, so I’m adding what I’m reading, listening to, using, and anything else I want to share!

FYI, the links in this post are affiliate links, and if you buy something, I might receive a small commission from the retailer. That goes toward my coffee habit and keeping this blog going.

  1. This book is a great read. It’s an allegory about heaven. I don’t necessarily agree with how heaven is portrayed. However, I love the idea that God uses unlikely people from our lives to draw us to him, and sometimes, our judgements about people do not line up with God’s perspective.
  2. This worship song is a favorite. I love the idea that God’s spirit is refreshing us.
  3. This mixer/frother is one of the most used items in our kitchen. We use it to mix the kids’ breakfast drinks, and I use it to mix my collagen into coffee. It’s so convenient! I’m more of a minimalist when it comes to kitchen gadgets. This one makes the cut.
  4. This podcast is a must listen. Dr. Edie is my life coach, and she has so much wisdom. You will love her podcast. The episodes are short and full of practical tools to help you become the person you were meant to be. She is a former physician, turned blogger, turned life coach. She’s also a Christian, and you will love how helps you see life through the lens of God’s love.
  5. This reel has made us all laugh so much! I’m pretty sure anyone with siblings or multiple children can relate.
  6. These microfiber cleaning cloths are amazing! I used them to clean my windows this week, and I shared the process on my Instagram stories. If you missed it, I’m saving it to the Weekly Faves highlights. You don’t need any cleaning products. They work with just water! I’ve shared them before, but it’s been a while.
  7. This quote by Frederick Buechner about purpose and discovering your calling is so powerful!

That’s all for today! Thanks for reading, and if you choose to shop with my affiliate links, it is very much appreciated.

Collagen Oat Milk Latte

I’m not sure if you can really call this a “recipe,” because it’s so simple to make. However, it has been my favorite afternoon beverage lately, and I want to share it. The collagen gives skin, hair, and joints a boost, and the oat milk and sugar free syrup keep the calories low.

This post contains affiliate links, so if you click on a link and purchase something, I may receive a small commission which goes to keeping the blog going. If you choose not to purchase through those links, that’s ok too. I’m glad you’re here either way.

Nespresso Coffee Maker

You could make this without a Nespresso, but why would you want to? Kidding… sort of. I love my Nespresso coffee maker. We’ve had it for over a year, and I love it as much as when we bought it. This is a link to purchase mine, but I also like this white one. Nespresso machines are also available at Target, here.

My favorite pods for this drink are the Chiaro Double Espresso, but I made it work with the Giornio pods. They are also delicious. Our other favorite flavor is the dark roast Odacio.

What makes the Nespresso unique is the foam that is created when you brew the coffee. It’s also incredibly fragrant and tastes like fresh ground coffee beans. I worked in a coffee shop through college, so I’m a bit of a coffee snob. Sorry not sorry. This is pricier than regular coffee or kcups, but I prefer it to Starbucks. It ends up saving me money in the long run.

Making the Latte

After brewing the coffee, I froth about 1/2 a cup of oat milk with the Nespresso milk frother that came with the coffee maker.

The cast of characters in this little treat.

I add two scoops of this Vital Protein Collagen Powder to the coffee before I stir in the milk. I also add two pumps of Torani Sugar-Free Vanilla using this pump and sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top before stirring it together.

This cute cup is old from Anthropologie.

All the links above are for Amazon, but you can find these ingredients lots of places.

Let me know if you try it! Later this week, I’ll give you an update on the master closet project. Cleaning it out has been more than I expected, but I’m really happy with how it’s coming along. Have a great afternoon!

Weekly Faves – 07.16.20

It’s time to reorder some of my favorites, so I thought I’d share what was on my list. All of these items are things I use and love. Keep reading for the rundown on each and where to buy for the best deal.

FYI, the links in this post are affiliate links, and if you buy something, I might receive a small commission from the retailer. That goes toward my coffee habit and keeping this blog going.

I use all of these products daily.

I also shared this on my Like to Know It shop, linked here. That’s the easiest way to shop and save items.

  1. This Tarte Amazonian Clay Concealer is my favorite by far. It blends perfectly, and provides long-lasting coverage without looking caked on. I ordered the shade light sand. It’s not cheap, but I find that it lasts a long time, about 4-6 months. I prefer to buy it from Ulta, but it’s also available from Sephora here and the Tarte website here.
  2. This Cremo Shaving Cream is so good. It’s super moisturizing and protects against nicks. The lavender is my favorite scent, but the coconut mango is also good. You can buy it at Walmart and Target, but the best deal is on Amazon when you buy two.
  3. Spongelle Infused Buffers are a must-have for me. They exfoliate, moisturize, and smell amazing. I prefer to buy the set of them from the Spongelle website. I haven’t had a scent I didn’t like. You can also order one at a time on Amazon here, but there’s currently a coupon code for $15 off on the Spongelle website (GIMME15).
  4. I’ve shared this Lash Serum here before, but I thought it was worth sharing again. This is a great price, and it really works. Within just a couple of weeks, I noticed that my lashes were much longer. It’s available on Amazon and usually has a coupon.
  5. The Rael Miracle Patch is a popular item around here with so many preteens and teens. Of course Mr. Bayou and I use them too. You just put the invisible patch on a blemish overnight or during the day (it really doesn’t show), and it helps it heal. It also keeps the blemish from getting worse and reduces redness. These work well, and the box includes 96 patches, so they’ll last a while.
  6. These Makeup Removing Cloths really help get everything off my skin at night. They work as well as the “Makeup Eraser” brand, but cost much less. I use them before I do my cleanser to take off all my eye makeup. They definitely don’t substitute for cleansing your skin, but I like that they are reusable and don’t irritate my eyes like a lot of the makeup wipes.

That’s all for today! Thanks for reading, and if you choose to shop with my affiliate links, it is very much appreciated.

Amazon Prime Day Finds

It’s Amazon Prime Day, and I’ve been on the hunt for some great deals. Everything is linked in the Like to Know it App– click here to see all my posts. That’s the easiest way to shop these items. Keep in mind that when you shop using my affiliate links, I receive a small commission which I use to keep the fun content coming.

I haven’t tried any of the dresses, but the prices are awesome. The blue one is under $20! Plus with Amazon’s amazing return policy, it’s no risk.

I have the top two swimsuits and wear a medium in both. They are incredibly flattering and perfect “mom” suits. Both stay put in the water. The top one has removable straps and boning in the side to help it stay in place.

The workout brand is my absolute favorite, but size up in the sports bra. I find that the leggings are pretty true to size. Size down if between sizes though.

The collagen and dry shampoo are amazing — stock up while they’re on sale!

The prices on televisions, speakers and gadgets are unreal. If you’ve been considering one of these purchases, now is a great time to buy!

Weekly Faves – 06.18.21

I haven’t shared weekly faves in a while, so I have some good one for y’all. Most items are from Amazon. As always, the list is random. I’ve tried all of the items and love them, and I hope you do too. Keep in mind that the links in this post are affiliate links, and if you click on them, I may receive a small commission from the retailer. That money goes toward keeping this blog going.

Did you see this meme I shared on Instagram last week?

Serious truth right there! Here’s a snapshot of my current faves, and I’ll review each below in more detail. I also shared this on my Like to Know It shop, linked here. That’s the easiest way to shop my items.

  1. This sports bra from Amazon is my absolute favorite. I love the longer length, and it doesn’t give me the dreaded back bulge that I get from so many others. I have a similar style from Aerie, but I think this one is a little more supportive. I did size up to a Large. I’m a 34C for reference. I’m ordering this color next.
  2. This little Bissel Stick Vacuum is a game changer for me. We have an older Roomba, but with our open floor plan, it takes forever to get the entire house. Plus, it gets stuck on some of my rugs. This stick vacuum is lightweight, easy to use, and works great for wood floors. It also detaches and becomes a handheld vacuum. It’s so lightweight that the kids have now taken over the vacuuming chore for the house! Want to know the best part? It costs less than $30!
  3. Plastic Dishes from Target: These plates and bowls are just 50 cents each! Target also has a dinner-sized bowl in the set. They are perfect for the summer because the kids can wash them, and it keeps us from using 5 million paper plates. These dishes also come in black, but I’m more of a pink girl myself.
  4. This garment steamer from Amazon is a total win. I almost bought a steamer that cost nearly twice as much before I stumbled upon this one. It’s $35, and there’s currently a coupon on Amazon for 10% off. It works well and heats up quickly. There are several attachments and features that I haven’t figured out yet, but it works great right out of the box.
  5. These “bloomer” shorts from Amazon are a must under short dresses. I bought the pack of two (black and nude) for $20. I have the small/medium (I usually wear an 8), and they fit great. The material is super stretchy and lightweight and doesn’t create bulges. Sizing is general; Little Miss can wear these too, and she is a size 0-2.

That’s all for this week! Thanks for taking the time to stop by today, and if you choose to shop with my affiliate links, it is very much appreciated.

If you don’t follow me on Instagram, click here to stay in touch. I’ll try to do a review of each of these products in stories too, so you can see them in “real life.”

Weekly Faves – Summer Beauty Picks

My makeup bag needed a summer update, so I headed to Ulta to stock up on a few things. Here is what I’m currently using and loving. The best part is that I can get my makeup done in about five minutes with these easy-to-apply products!

Please note that this post contains affiliate links. If you choose to purchase something from one of these links, I may get a small commission, which I will use to keep the fun content coming.

  1. Sun Bum Face Lotion and Sun Bum Face Stick // I love all Sun Bum sunscreen products, but this face lotion and stick are a must. These don’t burn my kids’ eyes, and they don’t make me break out. Right now they are buy 1 get 1 50% off at Ulta, so I’m stocking up. The chapstick is also awesome and has a great flavor and smooth feeling. I keep both in my swim bag.

FYI, I love this Elta MD sunscreen under my makeup (on sale for $29). It works as a primer, and I slather it on my face, neck, and décolletage daily. It’s also available on Amazon here.
  2. IT Cosmetics CC Cream in Medium // I love this product so much. It has great coverage and extra SPF. It’s not heavy at all. I just put it on with clean hands like a moisturizer. This tube will last all summer, wearing it every day. It has SPF 50 too!

Bayou Blonde Tip: Keep fragrance-free baby wipes with your makeup and clean your hands after applying CC Cream and other products with your fingers. You’ll seriously thank me for this one.
  3. Tarte Amazonian Clay Stick Concealer in Light-Medium Honey // This creamy concealer matches my skin and is waterproof. It blends beautifully too, and it doesn’t settle into fine lines. It’s so good!
  4. Translucent Loose Setting Powder // This is probably the fourth time I’ve purchased this powder. It’s my absolute favorite for setting my skin. It keeps my skin fresh for about 4 hours without primer, and will last up to 8 hours with primer. I love that it doesn’t change the way my makeup looks, and it never has a cakey finish.
  5. Powder Brush by IT Cosmetics // It’s perfect to apply the setting powder. It’s big and fluffy and does a great job setting everything.
  6. Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Au Natural // This is a new product for me. I wanted to simplify my eye makeup. I smudge this product along the lash line and bring it above toward the brow with the brush below or my finger. I like to add a little highlighter (listed below) to soften the look. Usually, I apply both of those with my finger. It’s quick and easy, and gives just a tiny bit of color.

If I want to look a little more finished, I’ll follow up with an eyeliner. I love this 24/7 Glide-on Waterproof Eyeliner from Urban Decay in Desperation (Matte Taupe) for a more natural look in the summer months.
  7. Eyeshadow brush by IT Cosmetics // This brush works great to smudge the eyeshadow stick.
  8. Becca Sunlit Bronzer in Capri Coast // I love the highlighter from this brand (below), so I wanted to try the bronzer. It is perfection. The color and soft shimmer blend easily without being overly shiny. It’s almost impossible to apply this one wrong.
  9. Bronzer brush from IT Cosmetics // When applying bronzer, make a “3” shape on each side of your face to accentuate the jawline and cheekbones.
  10. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter in Champagne Pop // This product is amazing and brings just the right about of shimmer to keep your makeup from looking flat. I apply it to my brow bone, cupid’s bow, bridge of the nose, and the inner corners of my eyes with my finger. Sometimes I add it to the cheekbones too. It looks shimmery but not shiny.
  11. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara // I’ve been using this mascara for a few months, and I am loving it! It gives great thickness and tons of length, and it lasts through the day. I usually apply two coats. It’s so good that I rarely need eyeliner with it, unless I’m going all out with my makeup. It goes on sale from time to time, so I stock up then. (Stay tuned… sale coming!)
  12. Laura Mercier Lipstick in Brun Pale // I love this lipstick because it has staying power, the right amount of moisture, and the colors are so flattering. For summer, I switched to this nude color from my go-to shade, Nu Prefere. Don’t let the name fool you — it’s not brown!

These products are pretty much all I wear, and the best part is that my makeup routine takes all of about five minutes.

FYI, Ulta is my absolute favorite beauty spot. The people are helpful in the store, and their customer service is top notch. Also, you can always return products that don’t work for you. If it’s within 60 days, you can get a refund. Otherwise, they’ll give you a store credit instead. I’m not paid to endorse Ulta, but I am a huge fan.

That’s all for this week! Thanks for taking the time to stop by today, and if you choose to shop with my affiliate links, it is very much appreciated.
