Let’s get started, shall we? Target had some great finds, but act fast. You know their best stuff will sell out quick!
Sizing info: I’m 5’5″, and usually wear a M or S in tops and size 28 in jeans. In dresses I’m usually a size 8 or M. I recently lost 20 pounds, so I’m still trying to figure out my sizes!
Casual Style//
This look is probably my favorite. I’m wearing a medium in the top. It’s a little big, but I like the fit. The fabric feels like linen, but I can totally see me wearing this into the fall with blue denim and booties. The jeans are really cute, but these are too big. I’m in a 29 and needed a 28 — so stick true to size. Similar shoes linked, but unfortunately mine are sold out. I’m also linking similar bracelets and my exact necklaces and earrings. I wore the same jewelry for the entire try-on.

This top is a close second. I love the fit, fabric and colors. It feels like Anthropologie but costs a fraction of the price. I’m wearing a medium. I was surprised how much I loved these olive shorts! They went with nearly everything in my closet. I like my shorts loose, so I always size up at least one size (wearing an 8). These are a great length with some stretch. This fit is my favorite from Target.

This is the perfect summer outfit to bring to the beach. I love the shorts and the fit of the shirt is flattering and not too big (wearing a medium in both). I wasn’t a fan of the matching sweatshirt, but preferred this white sweatshirt with the outfit.

Isn’t this top darling?! I sized down to a small. The ruffles, eyelet details, and fit are just gorgeous and feel much more expensive than it is. It’s not sheer at all. I’d wear this to church, a baby shower, or a dinner with friends.

I love the tan color on this top, and the buttons and embroidery are so unique. It’s a little sheer, so definitely wear a nude bra. The fit is great; wearing a medium.

This graphic tee is soft, colorful, and gives me all the summer vibes (size medium). These shorts are from last year, and they have a similar pair fully stocked! I’m actually wearing a 10, but size 8 would probably fit better. I’ll probably buy them again. Also, you need these sunglasses if you don’t have a pair of aviators.

This tee was cute, but size down. This is a Medium, and it’s too big. I love the bright orange color. My shorts are old from Loft, but I linked the ones from Target that I like more. I have a pair on order! The style is the same as above; I ordered a size 8. I’m also linking a similar shoe from Walmart. They are under $30 and a great buy.

Dresses//
I love a good t-shirt dress, and Mr. Bayou insisted I keep this one. I’m wearing a medium, and it’s loose. I could probably go down to a small, but I prefer the looser fit. It also comes in a other colors. My necklace is from Erin McDermott, and is not available any more. However, her jewelry is so cute. I also linked the cutest nude wedges that I found online. I haven’t tried them, but they look promising!

Look no further for the perfect opportunity to jump into the boho dress trend. The oranges and pinks are gorgeous, and the fit did wonders for my waistline. It even has pockets. I love this one – wearing a small.

This yellow dress is darling with the ties on the shoulders. I’m not usually a yellow person, but it comes in other colors too. It’s got a good bit of stretch, but stick true-to-size — wearing a medium. This would be great to wear to an outdoor event (LSU football in the fall!). You’ll need a strapless bra. This sticky bra from Amazon is my favorite.
Workout Clothes//
I have been curious about the JoyLab brand, and overall, I liked what I found.
This first outfit is comfortable and cute. I’m wearing a medium in both the shorts and shirt. I love the olive green print on the shorts, and the blue top coordinates perfectly. The detail on the shoulder is fun too.
This is the same top in a different color with a matching bra. I didn’t love these leggings, but I’d definitely wear the top and bra for a pilates or yoga workout. The color is so pretty with black leggings. FYI, these from Aerie are my favorite.
I know some of you are curious about the items I didn’t love from this try-on. My top “don’t buy” is the Wild Fable shorts. I tried two pairs, and even sizing up, the fit was not flattering at all. I’d stick to the Universal Thread brand for shorts, unless you’re under 20. I also wasn’t crazy about the JoyLab leggings and the other sports bras. I’d stick to their lighter support styles.
If I had to pick favorites, I’d say the graphic tee, green floral top, white plaid top, brown dress, and the floral dress. If you don’t have white jeans or good denim shorts, you need those in your closet.
